On Monday, July 10, 2023, New York attorney Joseph Richard Costello, who was suspended for six months, has been returned to administrative suspension by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

The case is entitled “In the matter of Joseph Richard Costello” with case no. 139 DB 2019.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered that Costello be returned to administrative suspension after he filed a verified statement showing compliance with the order of suspension and the rules of disciplinary enforcement. The order was based on the certification by the Disciplinary Board that there was no other outstanding order of suspension or disbarment against Costello. However, Costello remains ineligible to practice law in Pennsylvania until he fulfills his administrative obligations and applies for reinstatement.

The Disposition states:

“AND NOW, this 10th day of July 2023, on certification by the Disciplinary Board that Joseph Richard Costello, who was suspended for a period of six months, has filed a verified statement showing compliance with the order of suspension and Pa.R.D.E. 217, and there being no other outstanding order of suspension or disbarment, Joseph Richard Costello shall be returned to administrative suspension”
