On Thursday, December 1, 2022, the Indiana Supreme Court terminated the suspension of an Angola Attorney over the case of non-cooperation. The Case is styled “In the matter of Amanda R. German”, Case No. 22S-DI-312.

On November 15, 2022, the Indiana Supreme Court published an Order suspending Respondent from the Practice of Law in Indiana for Noncooperation.  On September 7, 2022, the Court ordered the Respondent to show cause why the Respondent should not be immediately suspended from the practice of law in the state for failure to cooperate with the Commission’s investigation of a grievance filed against the Respondent. The order required that the Respondent show cause in writing within ten days of service of the order. However, the Respondent has not submitted a response to the Court’s order to show cause. On September 27, 2022, the Commission filed a “Request for Ruling and to Tax Costs” asserting that Respondent still has not cooperated, to which Respondent has not responded. The Court then ordered that the Respondent be suspended from the practice of law for noncooperation with the Commission.

However, On November 16, 2022, the Executive Director of the Disciplinary Commission filed a “Certification of Compliance,” stating that the Respondent has now cooperated with its investigation. Pursuant to the Admission and Discipline Rule.

The Order states:

“The Court, therefore, ORDERS that Respondent’s suspension from the practice of law for failure to cooperate in this case be shown as terminated as of November 16, 2022, and that Respondent be shown as reinstated to the practice of law in this state if no other suspension is in effect.”
