On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board suspended attorney Patrick Lynn Edwards for failing to comply with a subpoena duces tecum issued by the Bar.

On November 16, 2022, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board ordered the interim suspension of attorney Patrick Lynn Edwards for failure to fully comply with a subpoena duces tecum issued by the Bar. It was stated that the suspension would remain in effect until Edwards fully complied with the subpoena. He was also required to notify all current clients, opposing attorneys, and judges in pending litigation about the suspension and make necessary arrangements for the disposition of matters under his care.

The suspension shall take effect until the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board determines that Patrick Lynn Edwards has fully complied with the subpoena duces tecum served on September 14, 2022.”
In relation to this, Edwards’s law license in Virginia has been suspended for 60 days by the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board. This action was taken due to Edwards’s non-compliance with Part Six, Section IV, Paragraph 13-29 of the Virginia Supreme Court Rules, as outlined in the Board’s Interim Suspension Order of November 16, 2022.
The Disposition states:
“Ordered and effective July 14, 2023, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board suspended Patrick Lynn Edwards’s license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia for 60 days for failing to comply with Part Six, Section IV, Paragraph 13-29 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia pursuant to the Board’s Interim Suspension Order entered November 16, 2022.”
