On Friday, January 5, 2024, the Supreme Court of California issued an order revoking probation and suspending attorney Aaron Thomas Gordon from the practice of law for one year. The order stems from disciplinary proceedings against Gordon by the State Bar Court of California.

The case is entitled “In the matter of Aaron Thomas Gordon,” with case no. S276846.

In August 2023, the Hearing Department of the State Bar Court in Los Angeles granted a motion by the State Bar’s Office of Probation to revoke Gordon’s probation and place him on involuntary inactive enrollment status.

The court documents reveal that Gordon was privately reproved in 2011 and placed on probation in December 2022 by the Supreme Court over prior misconduct. As part of his 2022 probation, Gordon was required to comply with various terms and conditions, including scheduling an initial meeting with his probation case coordinator by February 2023 and filing quarterly reports.

However, the State Bar’s Office of Probation alleged that Gordon failed to meet any of the deadlines or requirements of his probation. He did not schedule the initial meeting, submit the first quarterly report due in April 2023, or respond to subsequent notices of noncompliance sent by the probation office.

Based on Gordon’s admissions through his non-participation in the revocation proceedings, the State Bar Court found that he violated the terms of his probation. Aggravating factors included Gordon’s prior discipline record and his indifference toward rectifying his actions. The court then revoked Gordon’s probation and placed him on involuntary inactive status.

In its January 2024 order, the Supreme Court affirmed the State Bar Court’s ruling. Gordon was suspended for one year, with credit given for time spent on inactive status since August 2023. He was also ordered to comply with notification rules for former clients.

According to avvo.com, Mr. Aaron Thomas Gordon is an entertainment attorney in La Jolla, California.  He attended the California Western School of Law and acquired his law license in California in 2015.
