On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, the Supreme Court of Indiana reinstated attorney Aftin R. Brown. This decision follows a previous suspension that occurred on July 22, 2024, due to her failure to pay costs associated with a disciplinary action, as required by Indiana Admission and Discipline Rules.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Aftin R. Brown,” with case no. 23S-DI-154.

The Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission had filed a petition for Brown’s suspension after she did not meet the deadline for paying the assessed costs by the annual attorney registration fee due date. This violation placed her under potential suspension according to the established rules. Brown did not respond to the initial petition, leading to the suspension order.

In her petition for reinstatement, Brown reported that she has since settled all outstanding payments, including the costs owed and the $200 reinstatement fee mandated under the relevant disciplinary rules.

After careful consideration of her petition and the information provided, the Court decided to approve her request.

The order states:

“Being duly advised, the Court grants the petition and reinstates the Respondent to the practice of law in Indiana, effective immediately.”

According to Avvo.com, Ms. Brown is a foreclosure attorney in Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended the Indiana University School of Law, graduating in 2010. She acquired her law license in Indiana in 2012.
