On Friday, February 20, 2026, the Maryland Supreme Court issued an order regarding disciplinary action against attorney Brenda C. Wagner. The court’s decision, documented as AG No. 36, comes in response to a petition filed by the Attorney Grievance Commission.

The commission had requested the court to impose disciplinary measures on Wagner, aligning with a public censure previously issued by the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. This censure stemmed from Wagner’s violation of Rule 4.2(a) of the District of Columbia Rules of Professional Conduct.

Following the initial petition, the court had directed Wagner to demonstrate why corresponding disciplinary actions should not be enforced. Bar Counsel subsequently submitted a response to the court’s order. Wagner then requested an extension to respond to the court’s order after the initial deadline had passed.

Upon reviewing the petition from the Attorney Grievance Commission, Bar Counsel’s response, and Wagner’s motion for an extension, the Maryland Supreme Court decided to deny Wagner’s motion for an extension of time. The court further ordered that Brenda C. Wagner be reprimanded.

According to Avvo, Ms. Wagner acquired her law license in Maryland in 1987.
