On Monday, March 9, 2026, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals suspended attorney David Edelstein from practicing law in the District of Columbia. The suspension is based on disciplinary actions taken against Edelstein in Maryland.
According to DC Bar records, the DCCA issued the order on March 9, 2026, following disciplinary measures imposed by the Maryland Supreme Court.
Previously, on August 18, 2025, the Maryland Supreme Court granted a Joint Petition for Disbarment against attorney David Andrew Edelstein. The petition, filed on August 14, 2025, detailed Edelstein’s violations of several provisions within the Maryland Attorneys’ Rules of Professional Conduct, specifically Rules 19-308.4(a), 19-308.4(b), and 19-308.4(d).
The Maryland court’s order indicated that Edelstein acknowledged his misconduct as described in the petition and consented to disbarment as a suitable resolution. As a result, Edelstein is immediately disbarred from practicing law within the state of Maryland.
The disbarment in Maryland has now led to reciprocal disciplinary action in the District of Columbia.
According to Avvo, Mr. Edelstein is a construction and development attorney in Washington, D.C. He acquired his law license in D.C. in 2008.
