On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the Supreme Court of Iowa issued an order temporarily suspending the law license of Attorney Elizabeth Marie Wayne. The suspension is a result of Wayne’s failure to respond to an inquiry from the Attorney Disciplinary Board regarding a complaint filed against her.

The case is entitled “Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board v. Elizabeth Marie Wayne,” with case no. 25-1471.

The Attorney Disciplinary Board filed a certificate on September 8, 2025, noting Wayne’s failure to respond to the complaint notice within the allotted time. Following this, on September 11, 2025, the Supreme Court Clerk issued a notice indicating that Wayne’s license would be suspended if the Board did not withdraw its certificate within 20 days. The Clerk sent this notice to Wayne’s designated mailing addresses via both restricted certified mail and regular first-class mail.

The court noted that the 20-day period had expired without a response from Wayne, leading to the order for temporary suspension. The suspension is effective immediately and will remain in place until Wayne pays the reinstatement fee to the Office of Professional Regulation, the Board withdraws its certificate, and the court issues an order reinstating her license. Wayne is also required to comply with notification provisions outlined in the Iowa Court Rules.

According to Martindale.com, Ms. Wayne attended the University of Iowa, graduating in 2004. She acquired her law license in Iowa in 2007.
