On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, the Supreme Court of Missouri issued an order indefinitely suspending attorney Eric Anthony Swan from practicing law.

The case is entitled “In the matter of Eric Anthony Swan,” with case no. SC100323.

The order stems from Swan pleading guilty to one count of second-degree domestic assault and one count of unlawful use of a weapon in Platte County Circuit Court. Swan entered pleas to the class D and E felonies. In response, the Chief Disciplinary Counsel filed an information and motion for final order of discipline with the Supreme Court, requesting Swan’s law license be suspended. Swan responded to the order to show cause on November 24, 2023.

After reviewing the filings, the high court ordered Swan’s indefinite suspension. No petition for reinstatement of his law license will be considered until at least December 19th, 2026, which is three years from the date of the order. The order also requires Swan to comply with procedures following disbarment or suspension outlined in Rule 5.27 and pay costs of $1,000 to the Advisory Committee Fund.

According to Martindale, Mr. Swan is an attorney in Kansas City, Missouri. He acquired his law license in Missouri in 2006.
