On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the Supreme Court of Missouri issued an order suspending the law license of Attorney Gordon R. Upchurch. The suspension is indefinite, with Upchurch ineligible to apply for reinstatement for six months from the date of the order.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Gordon R. Upchurch,” with case no. SC101198.
The decision stems from a finding that Upchurch violated Rules 4-4.1 and 4-8.4(c) of the Rules of Professional Conduct. The Supreme Court’s ruling follows a review of the Disciplinary Hearing Panel decision, which the court accepted under Rule 5.19(a). The court also considered previous decisions, the ABA Standards for Imposing Lawyer Discipline, and aggravating and mitigating circumstances in reaching its decision.
In addition to the suspension, Upchurch is required to comply with Rule 5.27, which outlines the procedures following a disbarment or suspension order. He is also ordered to pay $1,000 to the Clerk of the Court, to be credited to the Advisory Committee Fund, as a fee pursuant to Rule 5.19(k).
