On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department granted the reinstatement of In Sue Kim as an attorney and counselor-at-law in the State of New York. The decision marked the end of a suspension that began in November 2022.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of In Sue Kim,” with case no. 2025-02402.

In Sue Kim had been suspended on November 17, 2022. The suspension resulted from non-compliance with Judiciary Law Section 468-a, a statute governing attorney registration requirements in New York.

Following the suspension, Kim took steps to address the issue, achieving compliance with Judiciary Law Section 468-a on or about September 20, 2024, and again on April 15, 2025. Subsequently, Kim petitioned the court for reinstatement, submitting a motion to resume practice as an attorney.

The court, presided over by Justice Peter H. Moulton, alongside Justices Barbara R. Kapnick, Saliann Scarpulla, Julio Rodriguez III, and Llinét M. Rosado, reviewed the motion and supporting documents. After due deliberation, the panel approved Kim’s reinstatement, effective May 20, 2025.

According to the filing, Kim acquired his law license in New York in 2017.
