On Thursday, August 14, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department permitted Attorney Katherine Boyd Palmer-Ball to resign from the New York bar for nondisciplinary reasons. Palmer-Ball submitted her resignation request, which was not opposed by the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Katherine Boyd Palmer-Ball,” with case no. PM-176-25.

Palmer-Ball swore an affidavit on July 7, 2025, which was subsequently filed with the court on July 14, 2025. The court noted that the Attorney Grievance Committee reviewed the application and found Palmer-Ball eligible to resign without any disciplinary actions pending against her.

Palmer-Ball’s name has been officially removed from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in New York, effective immediately. Furthermore, the court mandated that she cease all legal practice within the state, prohibiting her from appearing as an attorney before any court or public authority, as well as from providing legal opinions or advice.

In addition, Palmer-Ball is required to return any Attorney Secure Pass issued to her to the Office of Court Administration within 30 days of the court’s ruling.

The Disposition states:

“It is ORDERED that Katherine Boyd Palmer-Ball’s application for permission to resign is granted and her nondisciplinary resignation is accepted.”

According to the filing, Ms. Palmer-Ball acquired her law license in New York in 2010.
