On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the Supreme Court of Kansas issued an order staying the original two-year suspension of attorney Leon J. Davis Jr.’s law license.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Leon J. Davis Jr.,” with case no. 126,479.
The court had previously suspended Davis’ license for two years on March 1, 2024, due to professional misconduct charges stemming from his December 2019 arrest for felony driving under the influence. Davis failed to report the felony DUI charge to the Kansas Disciplinary Administrator’s office as required.
In its March order, the court had stayed the suspension after six months, conditioned on Davis’ successful participation in a two-year probation program outlined in his probation plan. This included complying with substance abuse treatment and monitoring.
In its October 15, 2024 order, the court granted the parties joint motion to stay the entire two-year suspension, also conditioned on Davis’ completion of the same two-year probation plan. His probation period will now begin on the date of the new order.
According to Linkedin, Mr. Davis, Jr., is a managing attorney at Davis Legal, LLC. He attended the Washburn University School of Law, graduating in 2011.
