On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the Supreme Court of Tennessee lifted the temporary suspension of attorney Melanie Beth Shada. However, she remains administratively suspended due to her failure to pay the required annual registration fees.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Melanie Beth Shada,” with case no. M2024-00605-SC-BAR-BP.

Shada had been temporarily suspended on April 25, 2024, due to a disciplinary matter. The Board of Professional Responsibility submitted a notice stating that Shada accepted a public censure on October 24, 2024, resolving the disciplinary issue that led to her suspension.

The court, finding sufficient cause, issued an order to lift the temporary suspension. However, Shada’s administrative suspension persists due to unpaid annual registration fees, and she is barred from practicing law until this issue is resolved.

The court’s decision, issued per curiam, marks the conclusion of the disciplinary action but leaves Shada’s status pending further action regarding her registration fees.

According to Martindale.com, Ms. Shada attended the University of Denver College of Law. She acquired her law license in Tennessee in 2002.
