On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted the application of attorney Pamela Kim Elkow to resign from the New York Bar. Elkow submitted her request, citing nondisciplinary reasons for her resignation.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Pamela Kim Elkow,” with case no. PM-188-25.
The Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department indicated that it did not oppose Elkow’s resignation application. Elkow’s affidavit, sworn on June 30, 2025, and filed with the court on July 3, 2025, was considered during the review process, alongside a response from the Deputy Chief Attorney for the committee.
In the court’s decision, it was noted that Elkow is eligible to resign under the applicable rules governing attorney disciplinary matters. The justices agreed to accept her resignation, which is effective immediately. Consequently, Elkow’s name will be removed from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in New York.
The court further ordered Elkow to cease all legal practice in New York State. This prohibition extends to any role as a principal, agent, clerk, or employee in legal capacities. Additionally, Elkow is barred from representing herself as an attorney before any judicial or public authority and from providing legal opinions or advice.
The court also mandated that Elkow surrender any Attorney Secure Pass issued to her within 30 days following the decision.
The Disposition states:
“It is ORDERED that Pamela Kim Elkow’s application for permission to resign is granted and her nondisciplinary resignation is accepted; and it is further ORDERED that Pamela Kim Elkow’s name is hereby stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law of the State of New York, effective immediately.”
According to Martindale.com, Ms. Elkow attended The George Washington University Law School, graduating in 1989. She acquired her law license in New York in 2005.
