On Friday, September 5, 2025, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals suspended attorney Shalonda Michelle Tillman on an interim basis. The suspension follows disciplinary actions taken against Tillman in Virginia.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Shalonda Michelle Tillman,” with case number 2025-D067.
The Virginia State Bar announced on April 28, 2025, that Tillman’s law license would be suspended for nine months, effective April 25, 2025. The Virginia suspension was a result of Tillman’s violations of professional conduct rules, including failures related to diligence, communication, safekeeping of property, and misconduct.
The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board’s review of Tillman’s actions led to the disciplinary measure.
According to Avvo, Ms. Tillman is a divorce and separation attorney in Washington, DC. She attended the Florida Coastal School of Law, graduating in 2017. She acquired her law license in the District of Columbia in 2019.
