On Thursday, June 1, 2023, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department issued a decision and order reinstating attorney Steven Wayne Griegel to the practice of law.
The case is entitled “Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department v. Steven Wayne Griegel,” with case no. 114-23.
Griegel had been suspended by a September 2022 order of the court following a finding that he had violated Judiciary Law § 468-a. After serving the said suspension, Griegel applied for reinstatement. The court granted Griegel’s motion for reinstatement to the practice of law. The court found that Griegel had complied with the order of suspension and the rules of the court and that he had the requisite character and fitness to practice law. Additionally, the court determined that it would be in the public interest to reinstate Griegel to the practice of law. Effective immediately, Griegel was reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law. The decision was signed by Garry, P.J., Clark, Pritzker, Ceresia, and McShan, JJ., concurring.
The Disposition states:
“It is ORDERED that respondent’s motion for reinstatement is granted; and it is further ORDERED that respondent is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, effective immediately.”
According to Avvo, Mr. Griegel is a Real Estate Attorney at Hamilton Square, New Jersey. He is listed as a member at Roselli Griegel Lozier & Lazzaro PC. He acquired his law license in New York in 2007.
