On Thursday, November 16, 2023, the Supreme Court of New York’s Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department, decided a case, reinstating Attorney Yi Wang. Wang had been suspended by the court in October 2021 for violating Judiciary Law § 468-a.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Yi Wang,” with case no. PM-260-23.

In its decision, the court found that Wang had satisfied the requirements for reinstatement, including complying with the order of suspension and the rules of the court, and demonstrating the requisite character and fitness to practice law. The court also determined that it would be in the public interest to reinstate Wang to the practice of law.

The court’s decision was based on its review of Wang’s notice of motion and affidavit with exhibits sworn on September 3, 2023, as well as the responses from the Attorney Grievance Committee dated November 2, 2023. The court noted that Wang had provided clear and convincing evidence that she had satisfied the requirements of the Rules of the Appellate Division, Third Department.

The Disposition states:

“ORDERED that respondent’s motion for reinstatement is granted, and it is further

ORDERED that respondent is reinstated as an attorney and counselor-at-law, effective immediately.”
