The case is entitled “In the Matter of David J. Bartone,” with case no. 25-PD-015,
The recommendation follows Disciplinary Counsel’s motion to accept Bartone’s consent to disbarment, supported by his affidavit signed on July 11, 2025. The Board, chaired by Bernadette C. Sargeant, reviewed the affidavit and found it compliant with D.C. Bar Rule XI, Section 12(a).

The period of disbarment will not begin until Bartone submits a compliant affidavit. Additionally, Disciplinary Counsel has notified Bartone of their intent to present evidence of unadjudicated acts at any future reinstatement hearing, per Board Rule 9.8(a).
According to Avvo.com, Mr. Bartone acquired his law license in D.C. in 1987.
