On Thursday, September 22, 2022, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals issued an Order in relation to the order from the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia suspending  Falls Church attorney Guillermo D. Uriarte from the practice of law in that Court for 90 days.

The case, titled In Re Guillermo D. Uriarte, was brought by the Disciplinary Counsel. Case #DDN2022-D089.

On August 3, 2022, the Court ordered suspending Respondent pending final disposition of the matter and directed him to show cause why the reciprocal discipline should not be imposed on him but Respondent did not file a response thereto.

The Court ruled for the suspension of Uriarte.

The dispositive part of the Order reads:

“ORDERED that Guillermo D. Uriarte is hereby suspended from the practice of law in the District of Columbia for a period of 90 days.

FURTHER ORDERED that for purposes of reinstatement, Mr. Uriarte’s suspension will not begin to run until such time as he files an affidavit that fully complies with the requirements of D.C. Bar R. XI, § 14(g).”
