On Wednesday, November 10, 2022, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals ruled on the disciplinary charges against Fairfax, Virginia attorney Michael D. Ephraim in relation to the latter’s suspension in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The case is styled as ‘In re Michael D. Ephraim’ and was brought by the Disciplinary Counsel. Case #22-BG-674.

The Order states:

“On consideration of the certified order from the Commonwealth of Virginia suspending respondent from the practice of law for 90 days with terms by consent; this court’s September 2, 2022, order suspending respondent pending final disposition of this proceeding and directing him to show cause why reciprocal discipline should not be imposed; respondent’s D.C. Bar R. XI, § 14(g) affidavit filed on September 28, 2022; and the statement of Disciplinary Counsel; and it is appearing that respondent has not filed a response.”

The Disposition reads:

“ORDERED that Michael D. Ephraim is hereby suspended from the practice of law in the District of Columbia, nunc pro tunc to September 28, 2022, for a period of 90 days subject to the probationary terms in Virginia.”

Mr. Ephraim attended the University of Virginia School of Law, graduating in 1991. Prior to the suspension, he practices as a divorce lawyer in Fairfax, Virginia where he maintains the Law Office of Michael Ephraim.
