On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ordered East Windsor Attorney Edward Harrington Heyburn’s 18-month suspension from the practice of law.
The case is styled In the Matter of Edward Harrington Heyburn and was brought by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel under case no. 102 DB 2022.
On January 11, 2022, the Supreme Court of New Jersey issued two suspension orders against Mr. Heyburn, concerning case nos. D-70-2o and D-137-20. The Court suspended Mr. Heyburn after finding that he neglected and failed to diligently pursue his clients’ matter, and failed to communicate with said clients. He was further found to have failed to expedite the litigation and failed to communicate with the disciplinary authorities.
The first suspension order stemmed from case no. D-70-20 which suspended Mr. Heyburn for six months and until further order of the Court, effective February 10, 2022, while the second suspension order involves case no. D-137-20 which got him suspended for one year, effective August 10, 2022.
According to the Order, Mr. Heyburn was previously suspended for three years by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on June 22, 2021. A Notice and Order directing him to provide reasons against the imposition of reciprocal discipline was issued but Mr. Heyburn failed to respond to the same.
With the foregoing facts, the Court ruled for the imposition of reciprocal discipline against Mr. Heyburn.
The Order reads:
“Edward Harrington Heyburn is suspended from the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for a period of eighteen months, consecutive to the three-year term of suspension ordered by this Court on June 22, 2021. He shall also comply with all the provisions of Pa.R.D.E. 217.”
Mr. Heyburn has been licensed in Pennsylvania, license no. 80472, as well as in New Jersey. He graduated from the Widener University School of Law in 1997. His info can be found on Avvo.
