On Friday, February 17, 2023, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ordered the disbarment of District of Columbia Attorney Cecilio Young.
The case is styled “In the Matter of Cecilio Young” and was brought by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel under case no. 180 DB 2022.
On March 31, 2021, Mr. Young was disbarred from the practice of law in Maryland for misconduct arising from Young’s unauthorized practice of law in Maryland without a license, lying about his client about the status of his case, and his numerous violations of the Maryland Lawyers Rules of Professional Conduct during his representation of a client in a personal injury action.
A copy of the Court of Appeals of Maryland Order of disbarment can be found here.
With the foregoing facts, and Mr. Young’s failure to respond to a Notice and Order directing him to provide reasons against the imposition of reciprocal discipline, the Court imposed the same sanction as that imposed in Maryland.
The Order reads:
“. . . Cecilio Young, a/k/a Celio Warren Young, a/k/a Celio Young, is disbarred from the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He shall comply with all provisions of Pa. R.D.E. 217.”
Prior to being disbarred, Mr. Celio Young practiced in Washington, D.C. He had been licensed in Pennsylvania, license no. 53763, the District of Columbia, and Maryland.
