On Monday, September 29, 2025, The Florida Bar filed a complaint with the Supreme Court of Florida against attorney Kristina Gabrielle Maranges, also known as Kristina G. Prieto. The complaint, filed under the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, alleges that Maranges has been delinquent in both her membership fees and continuing legal education (CLE) requirements, and that she continued to practice law while ineligible to do so.
The case is entitled “The Florida Bar v. Kristina Gabrielle Maranges,” with case no. 2025-70,097(11L).
According to the complaint, Marange was fee delinquent from October 2, 2019, until August 21, 2024. While she resolved the fee delinquency in August 2024, the complaint states that she failed to meet her CLE requirements. The Florida Bar sent multiple notifications regarding her approaching CLE delinquency starting in July 2021. A noncompliance letter was eventually sent via certified mail in November 2021.
The complaint further alleges that despite the notifications and her ineligibility to practice law, Maranges continued to work as in-house counsel. She worked for Envision until March 2022 and subsequently began working for Sky Hop Global in April 2022, where she holds the title of chief administrative officer. Her work at Sky Hop Global includes reviewing contracts, advising on administrative processes, and advising the company on business dealings.
In August 2024, Maranges submitted a petition for removal of membership fees delinquency, admitting that she had failed to pay her dues since 2019, attributing the oversight to a belief that her support staff had made the payments. However, the complaint notes that she failed to provide proof of CLE compliance with the petition and was allegedly deficient in 33 general credits, 5 professional responsibility credits, and 3 technology credits for the 2019-2021 CLE cycle. The Florida Bar also stated that Maranges would need to complete an additional 10 CLE hours for every year of delinquency before reinstatement.
Bar counsel requested proof of CLE completion and confirmation that Maranges had ceased practicing law in February 2025, but she has allegedly not provided the requested documentation.
The Florida Bar alleges violations of Rules 1-3.4(a), 1-3.6(a), 1-3.6(b), and 4-8.4(g) of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. The Florida Bar is requesting that the Supreme Court appropriately discipline Maranges.
According to Avvo.com, Ms. Maranges is a criminal defense attorney in Miami, Florida. She acquired her law license in Florida in 2008.
