On Thursday, July 3, 2025, the Florida Supreme Court granted Brad Ira Schandler’s petition for disciplinary revocation, effectively ending his ability to practice law in Florida for at least five years. The decision allows Schandler to seek readmission to The Florida Bar after this period, subject to compliance with the bar’s admission rules.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Brad Ira Schandler,” with case number SC2025-0676.

Schandler, a 69-year-old attorney, faced a disciplinary inquiry under The Florida Bar File No. 2024-50,680(17A). The inquiry stemmed from his actions as an attorney for companies involved in public foreclosure auctions for condominium associations seeking overdue maintenance fees and assessments.

Schandler purchased judgments from these associations and petitioned courts to modify auction procedures under Florida Statute §45.031. The changes allowed auctions to occur at property locations and removed the requirement to repeat auctions if the highest bidder failed to pay. A complainant, a losing bidder from a 2021 auction, and a Miami Herald article published on April 2, 2024, alleged these modifications enabled Schandler’s clients to acquire properties at lower prices than typical online foreclosure auctions.

The court’s order requires Schandler to comply with Rule 3-5.1(h) of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, ensuring proper client notification and case closure. He is also prohibited from accepting new business until readmitted.

Additionally, Schandler must reimburse The Florida Bar $1,250 for administrative costs and cover any payments made by the Client Security Fund for claims related to his conduct.

He agreed to submit to a trust account audit and provide a financial affidavit if requested by The Florida Bar. Schandler must maintain a current mailing address with the bar for five years post-revocation and inform them of his physical home or business address if using a post office box.

The petition, filed on May 14, 2025, was uncontested, and its approval dismisses all related disciplinary cases.

According to Avvo, Mr. Schandler is a bankruptcy and debt lawyer in Hollywood, Florida. He acquired his law license in Florida in 1983.
