On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the Florida Supreme Court suspended attorney Kevin Correa from practicing law following a determination of guilt related to a felony charge. The suspension stems from a Notice of Determination or Judgment of Guilt filed by The Florida Bar on the same date, which outlined Correa’s legal troubles and subsequent guilty plea.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Kevin Correa,” with case number SC2025-1118.

Correa was arrested on March 30, 2024, for Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Death, a felony under Florida law. In a subsequent case, The State of Florida v. Kevin Correa, he pled guilty to a lesser charge of Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Serious Bodily Injury, a second-degree felony, on April 30, 2025. As part of a plea agreement, adjudication was withheld, and Correa was sentenced accordingly.

The Supreme Court’s order stipulates that Correa’s suspension will take effect thirty days from the filing date, allowing him time to wind down his practice and safeguard the interests of his existing clients. However, the court indicated that if Correa informs them in writing that he is no longer practicing law, the suspension could be enacted immediately.

In addition to the suspension, the court mandated that Correa must comply with various rules set forth by The Florida Bar, particularly those requiring him to cease accepting new clients and to notify current clients of his suspension. He is also required to submit an affidavit detailing whom he notified regarding the suspension as per regulatory requirements.

According to Avvo, Mr. Correa is a lawyer in Coral Gables, FL. He acquired his law license in Florida in 2021.
