On Thursday, February 9, 2023,  the Supreme Court of South Carolina suspended attorney Scott David Robinson from the practice of law.

The case is entitled “In the matter of Scott David Robinson” and was brought by the Office of the Disciplinary Counsel with case no. 2023-000184.

The respondent has been requested by ODR to be put on an interim suspension pursuant to the Rules for Lawyer Disciplinary Enforcement (RLDE). Alternatively, the petitioner requested that the respondent be transferred to interim incapacity status. Moreover, the petition also requested for an appointment of a Receiver to protect the interest of the Respondent’s clients.

In answer to the Petition, the Supreme Court of South Carolina suspended attorney Robinson from the practice of law. However, it denied that the respondent is placed in an interim incapacity status.

In the matter of Receiver, the court-appointed Mr. Peyre T. Lumpkin, Esq. to assume the responsibility of the respondent to his clients, particularly on the client’s files, trust accounts, escrow, and operating accounts, and any other law office accounts that the respondent may maintain.
