On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, the Supreme Court of the State of Hawaii acted on the August 31, 2022 petition filed by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel requesting to transfer Respondent Pahoa attorney Michael Henry Garbarino to inactive status.

The case, titled Disciplinary Board of the Hawaii Supreme Court vs. Michael Henry Garbarino, was brought by Office of the Disciplinary Counsel. Case #SCAD-22-0000529. 

Upon review of the petition and with the approval of the Disciplinary Board, the Court, pursuant to Rules 2.19 (b) and 2.19(c) of the Rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Hawaii (RSCH), concluded the transfer to inactive status is warranted.

In the Order of Transfer to Inactive Status, the Court decreed in part:

“IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Respondent Garbarino is transferred to inactive status in this jurisdiction, pursuant to RSCH Rules 2.19(b) and 2.19(c), effective with the filing of this order. Respondent Garbarino shall remain on inactive status until further order of this court.”

According to JUSTIA Lawyers, Garbarino earned his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Texas School of Law, graduating in 1995. Garbarino practices in Pahoa, Hawaii. He had been licensed in Texas and Hawaii. #10474.
