On Friday, June 30, 2023, the Supreme Court of Iowa publicly reprimanded Henderson attorney Leila Louise Hale after the latter failed to respond to the reciprocal discipline notice and order concerning her discipline in the State of Nevada.

The case is titled “In the Matter of Leila Louise Hale,” case no. 23-0626.

Hale was publicly reprimanded in Nevada for prematurely taking attorney fees from client funds held in trust, failing to promptly disburse the remaining funds held in trust after negotiating all the relevant medical liens and after the client terminated her.

According to the document,  the Supreme Court of Iowa ordered a public reprimand of attorney Hale based on a similar order from the Nevada Supreme Court. The court gave Hale and the disciplinary board 30 days to challenge the order, but Hale did not respond. The court found no reason to change the discipline.
