On Thursday, July 31, 2025, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department granted the resignation of Attorney Huaizhi Zhang. Zhang submitted her application to resign for nondisciplinary reasons, which was not opposed by the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Huaizhi Zhang,” with case no. PM-160-25.

The court’s decision followed a review of Zhang’s affidavit, which was sworn on May 30, 2025, and subsequently filed on June 4, 2025. The Deputy Chief Attorney for the Attorney Grievance Committee provided correspondence in response to Zhang’s application, further facilitating the court’s consideration of her request.

The court officially accepted Zhang’s resignation and ordered that her name be removed from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in New York, effective immediately. This ruling also included a directive that Zhang must refrain from practicing law in any capacity within the state. She is prohibited from appearing as an attorney before any judicial or administrative body and is barred from offering legal opinions or advice.

Furthermore, the court mandated that Zhang surrender any Attorney Secure Pass issued to her within 30 days of the decision.

The Disposition states:

“It is ORDERED that Huaizhi Zhang’s application for permission to resign is granted and her nondisciplinary resignation is accepted.”

According to Martindale.com, Ms. Zhang acquired her law license in New York in 2021.
