On Friday, December 8, 2023, the Tennessee Supreme Court publicly censured attorney Larry Wayne Brantley of Huntsville, Alabama.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Larry Wayne Brantley.”

Brantley was previously disciplined by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on April 11th, 2023 with a public reprimand and probation of 36 months with conditions.

On October 25th, 2023, the Tennessee Supreme Court issued a Notice of Reciprocal Discipline directing Brantley to show cause within 30 days why the USPTO discipline should not also be imposed in Tennessee. Brantley failed to respond to demonstrate why reciprocal discipline was unwarranted.

As a result, the Tennessee high court entered an Order of Reciprocal Discipline to officially censure Brantley. A public censure does not restrict an attorney’s ability to practice law but serves as a warning.

According to avvo.com, Mr. Brantley is an intellectual property attorney in Huntsville, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama School of Law. He acquired his law license in Tennessee in 2015.
