On Thursday, February 19, 2026, the Administrator of the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission filed a complaint against attorney Robert Salvatore Reda alleging professional misconduct. The complaint seeks disciplinary action against Reda, who has been licensed to practice law in Illinois since February 7, 1989.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Robert Salvatore Reda,” with case number 2026PR00013.

The complaint details two separate incidents leading to two counts of misconduct. The first incident occurred on May 19, 2019, in downtown Lake Forest. According to the complaint, Reda, after having dinner and consuming alcohol, encountered two individuals skateboarding on Bank Lane. The individuals are identified as A.M., an eighteen-year-old, and G.L., a seventeen-year-old. Reda reportedly told them they should not skateboard in the street.

The situation escalated when Reda approached the skateboarders, resulting in a verbal altercation. The complaint alleges that Reda physically approached A.M. and headbutted him before leaving the scene. Subsequently, on June 6, 2019, the Lake County State’s Attorney filed a two-count criminal information against Reda, charging him with battery for causing bodily harm and making insulting or provoking contact with A.M. An arrest warrant was issued, and bond was set at $30,000.

Reda was arrested on June 7, 2019, and notified of a court date. He posted bond and was released. On June 28, 2019, he appeared in court, represented by counsel, and pled not guilty to the charges. On July 26, 2021, Reda pled guilty to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct as part of a negotiated agreement. Judge Theodore Potkonjak sentenced him to 12 months of supervision with conditions, including no contact with A.M., completion of anger management treatment, and substance abuse evaluation and treatment.

The second incident occurred on August 27, 2023, also in downtown Lake Forest. The complaint states that Reda, after consuming alcohol at a restaurant, learned of an unhoused individual living in a tent nearby. Reda allegedly went to the wooded area near Wisconsin and Oakwood Avenues, found the tent, dragged it into the street, and threw the belongings of the unhoused man, identified as C.K., into the street.

A witness stopped his car and called the police. Reda allegedly yelled at the witness, causing him to fear for his safety. When a Lake Forest police officer attempted to interview Reda, he reportedly denied being near Oakwood and Wisconsin Avenues and denied any knowledge of belongings being thrown from the wooded area.

As a result of the August 27, 2023 incident, Reda was issued a City of Lake Forest citation for disorderly conduct. On September 11, 2023, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office issued two non-traffic citations for disorderly conduct. On October 6, 2023, those citations were superseded by a three-count criminal information. On April 30, 2025, Reda pled guilty to one count of disorderly conduct.

Judge Simonian sentenced Reda to a term of 12 months of supervision, with conditions including refraining from alcohol consumption, completing 50 hours of community service, and completing substance abuse evaluation and anger management treatment.

The Administrator requests that the matter be assigned to a panel of the Hearing Board for findings of fact, conclusions of law, and a recommendation for discipline.
