On Friday, February 10, 2023, the Supreme Court of Indiana ruled on the Affidavit of Resignation from the state Bar filed by Indianapolis Attorney Steven J. Kasyjanski.
The case is styled as “In the Matter of Steven J. Kasyjanski”, with case no. 23S-DI-37.
Kasyjanski acknowledged in his affidavit that there is a pending investigation alleging misconduct stemming from his guilty plea to Child Exploitation, a Level 4 felony, in which he knowingly or intentionally disseminated matter that depicts or describes sexual conduct by a child less than twelve years of age.
Kasyjanski sought resignation from the bar rather than face disciplinary charges for the reason that he could not successfully defend himself if prosecuted, according to the court filing.
Accordingly, the Court having considered Kasyjanski’s affidavit deemed it appropriate to enter a Published Order Accepting Resignation and Concluding Proceeding,
The disposition reads:
“IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that the resignation from the bar of this State tendered by Respondent is accepted effective immediately.”
The Order further stated that any disciplinary proceedings pending against Clark are dismissed as moot as a result of Clark’s resignation. Moreover, the Court’s acceptance of Clark’s resignation does not relieve Clark from any liability he might have for his misconduct under civil or criminal law.
Costs were taxed against Kasyjanski.
Prior to his resignation, Mr. Steven J. Kasyjanski practiced in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, graduating in 2007. He had been licensed in Indiana. His info can be found on LinkedIn.
