On Thursday, September 1, 2022, the Indiana Supreme Court ruled on charges for attorney discipline against Indianapolis attorney Marco A. Genesis Moreno alleging failure to cooperate with the Commission’s investigation.
The case, titled In the Matter of Marco A. Genesis Moreno, was brought by Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission. Case #22S-DI-218.
According to the filing:
“On June 28, 2022, pursuant to a show cause petition filed by the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission, this Court ordered Respondent to show cause why Respondent should not be immediately suspended from the practice of law in this state for failure to cooperate with the Commission’s investigation of grievance No.22-0994 filed against Respondent, and further why Respondent should not be indefinitely suspended for repeated failures to cooperate. The order required that Respondent show cause in writing within ten days of service of the order. Respondent has not submitted a response to the Court’s order to show cause. On July 12, 2022, the Commission filed a “Request for Ruling and to Tax Costs” asserting that Respondent still has not cooperated, to which Respondent has not responded.”
In its Published Order, the Court, pursuant to Admission and Discipline Rule 23 (10.1)(c)(5), decreed:
“. . . that Respondent be indefinitely suspended from the practice of law for repeatedly failing to cooperate with the disciplinary process, effective immediately.
“IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, pursuant to Admission and Discipline Rule 23(10.1)(d),that Respondent reimburse the Disciplinary Commission$522.39 for the costs of prosecuting this proceeding.”
According to the Indiana Bar Association, Moreno went to Indiana University – Indianapolis. He practices in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has been licensed in Indiana.
