On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, the Supreme Court of Missouri ordered the disbarment of Kansas City Attorney Rebecca Jane Martin pursuant to the consent to disbarment by voluntary surrender of Martin’s license to practice law in Missouri.
The case is styled ‘In re: Rebecca Jane Martin’ and was brought by Petitioner Martin, under case no. SC99810.
Martin admitted in her Petition that she violated Rules 4-1.3, 4-1.4(a)(1), 4-1.4(a)(3), 4-1.4(b), 4-1.15(a), 4-1.15(a)(15), 4-1.16(d), 4-8.1(c), and 5.27(b)(4) of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
With the foregoing admissions by Martin, and having been advised by the Chief Disciplinary Counsel, the Court granted Martin’s petition.
The Order reads:
“This Court, thus advised, now orders that the consent to disbarment by voluntary surrender of the license of Rebecca Jane Martin be accepted and that said license is canceled.
It is further ordered that the name of Rebecca Jane Martin be stricken from the roll of attorneys in this state, that she be disbarred, and that her right and license to practice law in this state is hereby terminated.”
