On Friday, June 30, 2023, the Supreme Court of Tennessee at Nashville temporarily suspended attorney Samuel Ervin White for misappropriation of funds.

On June 30, 2023, the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee issued a release of information, stating that the respondent had been suspended from practicing law. The suspension was imposed after an investigation revealed that Mr. White had misappropriated funds for his personal use, and this misconduct was deemed to pose a substantial threat to the well-being of the public.

As a result of the suspension, Mr. White is prohibited from taking on new cases immediately and must cease representing existing clients by July 30, 2023. He was also required to notify all current clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel about the suspension and deliver any relevant papers or property to the clients. “IT IS, THEREFORE, CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND DECREED BY THE COURT THAT: Samuel Ervin White is hereby temporarily suspended from the practice of law as provided in Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, 12.3.”
