On Thursday, December 22, 2022, the Supreme Court of Florida suspended Lakeland attorney Jeffrey Edward Appel pursuant to the Petition filed by The Florida Bar seeking approval of Jeffrey’s ’conditional guilty plea for a consent judgment. The case is entitled “The Florida Bar v. Jeffrey Edward Appel,” with case no. SC22-1679.
Jeffrey tendered a Conditional Guilty Plea for Consent Judgment prior to a formal complaint that was filed by The Florida Bar before the Supreme Court of Florida. The same, pursuant to Rule 3-7.9 of the Rules of Discipline approved the said Conditional Plea.
In its Petition, The Florida Bar requested that the Conditional Plea for Consent Judgement be accepted, the proposed discipline be imposed, and the bar be awarded costs.
Correspondingly, the Supreme Court of Florida suspended the respondent from the practice of Law for 90 days. Moreover, the respondent is placed on probation for two years under the terms and conditions set forth in the consent judgment.
