On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, KSNV News 3 Las Vegas reported that attorney Gary Guymon has been suspended from practicing law following serious allegations against him. The Nevada Supreme Court approved a petition from the state bar to temporarily revoke Guymon’s license, citing a significant risk of harm to the public.
The court’s decision prohibits Guymon from accepting new clients or continuing to represent his existing ones. Additionally, the justices implemented restrictions on his access to client funds, requiring any withdrawals to receive approval from bar counsel.
Guymon faces accusations from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police involving attempts to solicit murder and coercing women into sex work. According to investigators, he allegedly used his status as an attorney to manipulate victims into participating in sexual activities with him and others. Reports indicate that Guymon referred to himself as a “gorilla pimp,” a term associated with violent behavior toward prostitutes.
In response to these allegations, Guymon claimed he was struggling with mental health issues and addiction, which he argued hindered his ability to defend himself during the investigation and any potential disciplinary actions. However, the Supreme Court dismissed his claims, describing his supporting documentation as insufficient. The court noted that the only letter submitted was a brief opinion from a psychologist who evaluated Guymon shortly after his arrest.
As of now, a formal criminal complaint against Guymon has not been filed. He has denied the allegations during interviews with law enforcement officials. His suspension will remain in effect until the conclusion of any disciplinary investigation or formal hearing related to the charges against him.
