On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, Fox23 reported that Paul Suitter, an assistant attorney general from Portland, Maine, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.

Suitter was arrested in August 2023 after Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a possible drunk driver on Weld Road in Wilton. According to court documents, deputies stopped Suitter’s vehicle on Main Street in Wilton and administered a field sobriety test, which he failed to pass.

Suitter was then arrested and charged with operating under the influence. He originally pleaded not guilty to the OUI charge in August 2023.

However, the Fox23 report stated that an attorney entered a guilty plea on Suitter’s behalf. As part of the sentencing, the judge ordered Suitter to pay a $1,000 fine and his driver’s license will be suspended for 150 days.
