On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board issued a notice announcing the automatic suspension of attorney Carl C. Silver.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Carl C. Silver,” with case no. 24-20-JC.
This action follows a reprimand order from the Tri-Valley Hearing Panel #4 dated October 1, 2024, in which Silver was mandated to pay $1,874.18 in assessed costs by October 23, 2024. Silver, however, did not fulfill this requirement, leading to a certification of nonpayment issued on November 5, 2024, under Michigan Court Rules (MCR) 9.128(C).
As a result of his failure to pay, Silver’s license to practice law in Michigan is now suspended. The suspension will remain in place until the owed costs are settled or until the Attorney Discipline Board approves a satisfactory payment plan. Additionally, Silver must comply with MCR 9.119 and 9.123(A) to regain his license.
The case highlights the consequences of noncompliance with disciplinary orders within the legal profession.
According to avvo.com, Mr. Silver is a bankruptcy & debt attorney in Alpena, Michigan. He attended the Detroit College of Law, graduating in 1976. He acquired his law license in Michigan the same year.
