On Monday, July 31, 2023, the Michigan Attorney Disciplinary Board issued a notice stating that it reinstated attorney Jason P. Ronning after being suspended multiple times.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jason P. Ronning,” with case no. 22-32-RP

Ronning has been continuously suspended since December 28, 2017. This suspension originated from the case of Grievance Administrator v Jason P. Ronning. Following this initial suspension, Ronning faced three separate and unrelated disciplinary cases, which collectively led to further suspensions of his law license. These subsequent suspensions were imposed as follows: Grievance Administrator v Jason P. Ronning, 18-12-GA (180-day suspension, effective June 1, 2018); Grievance Administrator v Jason P. Ronning, 19-26-GA (30-month suspension, effective August 15, 2019); and Grievance Administrator v Jason P. Ronning, 20-29-GA (one-year suspension, effective October 9, 2020).

After completing these disciplinary actions, Ronning submitted a petition for reinstatement. This request was assigned to Muskegon County Hearing Panel #2. Following a comprehensive hearing on the matter, the panel determined that Ronning has effectively demonstrated his eligibility for reinstatement. On March 21, 2023, the Board issued an order of reinstatement eligibility with certain conditions.

This order specified that reinstatement would be granted once written confirmation was received, verifying that Ronning had paid his mandatory membership dues to the State Bar of Michigan, as outlined in Supreme Court Rules governing the State Bar. Additionally, the order mandated that Ronning had successfully completed recertification by the Board of Law Examiners.

On July 17, 2023, the petitioner provided written confirmation to the Board stating that the State Board of Law Examiners had concluded that he was eligible for recertification as a member of the State Bar of Michigan.

As a result, the Board issued an Order of Reinstatement With Conditions, thereby restoring the petitioner’s ability to practice law in Michigan, effective July 18, 2023.
