On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, the State of Michigan Attorney Discipline Board issued an Amended Notice of Automatic Interim Suspension relating to Royal Oak attorney Andrew J. Paluda’s June 10, 2022, no contest plea to Case No. 21-278749-FH filed before Oakland County Circuit Court.
The crimes charged were Operating While Intoxicated, Third Offense, and Possession of Narcotic Less than 25 Grams.
According to the Amended Notice of Automatic Interim Suspension:
“In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondent’s license to practice law in Michigan was automatically suspended on the date of his felony conviction.”
This matter will be assigned to a hearing panel for further proceedings upon the filing of a certified judgment of conviction. Paluda’s interim suspension will remain in effect until the effective date of an order filed by a hearing panel.
This Amended Notice of Automatic Interim Suspension is issued to correct the error made in the September 19, 2022 Notice of Automatic Interim Suspension notice that indicated that the respondent was convicted of Possession of a Narcotic, Greater Than 25 Grams, but the respondent was actually convicted of Possession of a Narcotic, Less Than 25 Grams.
According to Super Lawyers, Mr. Paluda earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, graduating in 1989. Paluda practices in Troy, Michigan. He has been licensed in Michigan, license #P42890.
