On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, the State of Michigan Attorney Discipline Board issued a Notice of Disbarment (By Consent) relating to charges for attorney discipline against Livonia attorney Anthony J, Semaan for his felony conviction.

The case was brought by Grievance Commission, case Nos. 21-79-AI and 22-18-JC.

According to the filing:

“Respondent and the Grievance Administrator filed a Stipulation for Consent Order of Discipline which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel. The stipulation contained respondent’s admission that he was convicted of embezzlement-$50,000 or more, but less than $100,000 , a felony, in violation of MCL 750.1746, in People of the State of Michigan v Anthony Joseph Semaan, Third Judicial Circuit Court, Case No. 21-00349801-FH. In accordance with MCR 9.120(B)(1), respondent’s license to practice law in Michigan was automatically suspended, effective November 2, 2021, the date of his felony conviction.

The Notice of Disbarment (By Consent) reads in part:

“Anthony J. Semaan, P 37589, Livonia, Michigan, by the Attorney Discipline Board Tri-County Hearing Panel #1

Disbarment, Effective September 20, 2022”

Mr. Semaan practiced in Livonia, Michigan. He had been licensed in Michigan.
