On Thursday, November 10, 2022, the Attorney Discipline Board of the State of Michigan ordered the reprimand of Redford attorney Travis Michael for neglect and failure to diligently pursue a client’s interest.

Failed to a client reasonably informed about the status of the matter and to comply with reasonable requests for information
Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
Failed to refund an unearned fee
Knowingly failed to respond to a lawful demand for information from a disciplinary authority
Failed to answer a Request for Investigation

The respondent engaged in misconduct by failing to take any further action in a criminal matter after he entered and filed his appearance on behalf of a client. Respondent was also alleged to have failed to file any motions to address issues related to restitution despite multiple notices to appear and communications from the Court. Respondent’s neglect resulted in a default judgment against his client and prompted said client to retain a substitute counsel to resolve the matter. Moreover, respondent failed to respond to a request for an investigation.
The panel ruled against the respondent and ordered that respondent be reprimanded.
