The case is entitled “In the matter of John Lawrence McDonough” with case no. 22-83-JC.

The charges cited Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 9.104(5).

Attorney John Lawrence McDonough has been reprimanded, effective June 29, 2023, by the Attorney Discipline Board Kalamazoo County Hearing Panel #2. This disciplinary action comes after McDonough and the Grievance Administrator submitted a stipulation for a consent order of reprimand with conditions, which was approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel.

Based on the conviction and McDonough’s admission, the hearing panel determined that the same committed professional misconduct by violating criminal laws.

In accordance with the stipulated agreement, the hearing panel ordered McDonough to receive a reprimand and be subject to conditions relevant to the established misconduct. Additionally, the same was assessed costs.

The Disposition states:

“In accordance with the stipulation of the parties, the hearing panel ordered that the respondent be reprimanded and subject to conditions relevant to the established misconduct. Costs were assessed in the amount of $938.51.”
