On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, the State of Michigan Attorney Discipline Board issued a Notice of Interim Suspension of Novi attorney Jennifer Michelle Paine.
On October 25, 2022, Tri-County Hearing Panel #59 suspended Ms. Paine effective November 1, 2022, for failure to appear at a disciplinary hearing despite satisfactory proof that Ms. Paine had actual notice of the proceedings.
Ms. Paine filed a motion seeking to set aside the October 25, 2022 Order of Suspension. The Panel granted Ms. Paine’s motion and reinstated her to the practice of law in Michigan effective November 22, 2022.
The Notice of Interim Suspension reads:
“Respondent failed to comply with a required provision in a November 22, 2022, order entered by Tri-County Hearing Panel #59 that set aside an earlier Order of Suspension pursuant to MCR 9.115(H)(1).”
With the foregoing facts, the Panel issued an order placing Ms. Paine on interim suspension on December 6, 2022, effective December 13, 2022, until further order of the Court.
