On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board denied a motion for reconsideration filed by attorney Ernest Friedman. The decision upheld the Board’s April 17, 2025, order, which partially affirmed and vacated findings of misconduct and confirmed a 180-day suspension of Friedman’s law license.
The case is entitled “Attorney Grievance Commission v. Ernest Friedman,” with case no. 23-84-GA.
Friedman sought reconsideration on May 6, 2025, and submitted an addendum to his motion the following day. The Grievance Administrator responded to the motion on May 22, 2025.
The Board stated that Friedman’s arguments mirrored those previously presented and failed to show significant errors in the original decision. The Board acknowledged a minor error in its April order, which incorrectly stated that Attorney Mattson, associated with the case, did not file a substitution of counsel. The Board clarified that Friedman testified that Attorney Mattson filed the substitution, which the court rejected. The Board described the mistake as a minor scrivener’s error.
According to Avvo.com, Mr. Friedman is a personal injury attorney in Southfield, Michigan. He attended Wayne State University Law School, graduating in 1975. He acquired his law license in Michigan in 1976.
