On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, Attorney Glenn Phillip Franklin was reprimanded by the Attorney Grievance Commission of Michigan.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Glenn Phillip Franklin,” with case no. 23-97-GA.
According to the notice, Franklin failed to properly represent a client who was injured in a car accident. Franklin did not file a lawsuit on his client’s behalf before the statute of limitations expired and did not inform his client about the fast-approaching deadline. As a result, the client lost the opportunity to take legal action. Franklin also withdrew from the case without fully meeting his obligations.
With a no-contest plea to professional misconduct allegations, Franklin stipulated that his actions were not compliant with Michigan’s Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys. Specifically, he was found to have neglected the client’s legal matter, failed to handle it promptly with reasonable care, and violated attorney standards.
Per the consent order, Franklin was reprimanded by Tri-County Hearing Panel #65. He will also pay $750 in costs associated with the misconduct matter.
