On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, the Tri-County Hearing Panel #69 publicly reprimanded Michigan attorney Jeffrey W. Perlman.
The case is entitled “In the Matter of Jeffrey W. Perlman,” with case no. 24-37-GA.
The charges cited Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 7.1(a), 7.2(d), and Michigan Court Rules 9.104(1)-(3).
According to the notice of reprimand published by the Attorney Grievance Commission, Perlman admitted to allegations that he failed to remove the name and image of a suspended attorney from the firm’s website and advertising. The notice states that this constituted professional misconduct under Michigan’s rules of professional conduct.
Specifically, the panel found that Perlman offered firm communications containing a misrepresentation and failed to identify a responsible attorney for the advertisement content.
The Disposition states:
“In accordance with the stipulation of the parties, the panel ordered that respondent be reprimanded. Costs were assessed in the amount of $790.82.”
According to avvo.com, Mr. Perlman is a criminal defense attorney in Southfield, Michigan. He attended the Michigan State University College of Law. He acquired his law license in Michigan in 1984.
