On November 16, 2023, the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board issued a notice of reprimand against attorney Michael Tomas Mamut. The reprimand, effective November 7, 2023, follows a Stipulation for Consent Order of Discipline filed by Mamut and the Grievance Administrator, approved by the Attorney Grievance Commission and accepted by the hearing panel.

The case is entitled “In the Matter of Michael Tomas Mamut,” with case no. 23-5-JC.

The stipulation reveals Mamut’s admission to a misdemeanor charge of operating while intoxicated, second offense, with a guilty plea entered on October 31, 2022, in a case titled “People of the State of Michigan v Michael Thomas Mamut” (Case No. 22-0340-SD, 51st District Court, City of Waterford, County of Oakland, State of Michigan).

The hearing panel determined that Mamut’s conviction constituted professional misconduct by violating a criminal law, as outlined in MCR 9.104(5). As part of the stipulated agreement, the panel ordered Mamut’s reprimand with conditions relevant to the established misconduct, along with an assessment of costs totaling $800.40.

According to Avvo, Mr. Mamut is a military attorney in Southfield, Michigan. He obtained his law license in Michigan in 2016.
